Mynatt Park Twilight starts to dim on another year in October. The winter and the frost will come soon, but that doesn't mean you can't still find fun things to do outside. Autumn in the Smokies is even more fun outside with the bright colors and manageable temperature. Mynatt Park is still a great place to take the kids to run around. There's a creek nearby (truly steps from your room!), playground equipment, and picnic tables for those PBJ sandwiches the start of the school year always seems to call for. |

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Another option to take in the Autumn atmosphere is hiking the many, many, many trails of the Great Smoky Mountains. Great exercise, real nature around you, and more colors than you can take in. A good idea is to head out to Sugarlands Visitor Center and make a drive towards Cherokee. You get to drive through an hour's worth of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and stop at several trails and stops to take in the views. And then there's the Cades Cove driving loop, which you can see here! |

Gatlinburg Attractions And while the sun starts to fall over the close of another year, meaning new special events aren't 'til December, Gatlinburg still has weekends worth of year-round entertainment to enjoy, starting with Ober Gatlinburg, Gatlinburg's own mountaintop amusement center. Its a fun park in the warmer months, and a ski lodge in the winter. It has its own arcade, restaurants, mini-golf and a day's worth of fun for the whole family. Back down on Earth, we have an Aquarium that's hard to miss (and resist), black light mini golf, more than one museum of oddities, a fabulous new mirror maze, a wax museum - all within a few minutes walk. Arts and Crafts If you're just not that into touristy faire and want something more genuine and off the beaten path, then the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community is where you should be. There are so many artists and galleries showing homemade creativity expressing love for the mountains, you won't know where to start and where to stop. And in the fall, it just gets all the sweeter. |

So come celebrate the mountains and Gatlinburg one last time in T-shirt weather, ...while the harvest is still plentiful and the fun is happening. Sidney James welcomes you to Gatlinburg, Tennessee!
